Should be...: I usually don't have my patients stop their nsaid's prior to elective (and minimally invasive) surgery. Your surgeon may have other ideas though. Ask the doctor who is going to perform the procedure.

Typically not: All arthritis drugs call nsaids except Celebrex (celecoxib) are known to affect how well platelets help the body stop bleeding. That can affect your ability to stop bleeding after surgery. So, i usually request patients stop their nsaids one week prior to surgery.
