Rheumatologist: A rheumatologist is a specialized doctor. In the United States this is someone who has graduated from medical school with an M.D. Or D.O. Degree. Then performs 3 years of training in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in rheumatology. These doctors study and treat disease relating to joints, soft tissues, autoimmunity, and connective tissue disorders.
