Depends: It may last up to two weeks in my personal experience. I treated a woman with Clomiphene citrate once who carried twins that were exactly two weeks apart in size & gestational age status. I postulated that she had ovulated twice, two weeks apart, & conceived with both ovulations. This is called superfecundity & can occur spontaneously.

Not long: If you release more than one egg in one cycle, they will both be released (ovulation) simultaneously or very close together.

It varies: Simultaneous ovulation of two separate eggs can occur and be fertilized by two separate sperm and are known as fraternal twins two separate eggs can also be released days apart with the same result.
