No: The process of ovulation is the release of the egg. One ovulates when one releases an egg.

Well,..: Ovulation by definition is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg(ovule) is released from the ovaries. It is possible to have an Anovulatory cycle where the egg is NOT released, in which case you would not have a period that month.
