By definition: Literally, the word ovulation means to release an egg, so 'yes.' if your question refers more to releasing an egg when an ovulation test turns positive, the answer is 'mostly.' it is however possible, although not common, for multiple reasons to detect a positive on OPK and not actually release an egg.
