Inject sperm in eggs: ICSI is "intracytoplasmic sperm injection" and is a technology using in vitro fertilization (IVF). With IVF, a woman's ovaries are stimulated with fertility hormones. Eggs are then retrieved and combined with sperm in the laboratory. With conventional IVF sperm are added to eggs in a petri dish and fertilization is allowed to proceed naturally. With ICSI a single sperm is injected in the egg.
