Vasodilation: Persantine is a vasodilator and it may cause a drop in blood pressure, which in rare cases. May cause lightheadedness. It can also cause a brief stoppage of the heart (just a few seconds). It also can cause constriction of the lung breathing passages which may result in wheezing and shortness of breath, but this is reversible.
