NO!!!!: Caffeine should not be ingested prior to pharmacologic cardiac stress since it can interfere with the results. Stopping caffeine ingestion for at least 24 hours prior to pharmacologic stress should be sufficient. If caffeine is ingested and pharmacologic stress is performed, this can cause false negative results. If you have taken caffeine, stress may be rescheduled or switched to dobutamine.
