A member asked:

After taking the persantine thallium test my dr., informed me of the following; decreased count rate in the anterior wall; reversible ischemia;; ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cannot be sure it is: While decreased count in the anterior wall may be caused by ischemia( inadequate blood flow), there are frequently other causes. In females, decreased anterior wall counts may be an artifact due to the interposition of the breast between the camera and the heart. In true ischemia ,decreased count would be present only in the stress images. Please confirm this with your physician.
