A member asked:

Is it possible for cigarette smoking not to cause lung damage if you quit before 30?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely, but smart: Cigarette smoking can cause lung damage from day 1. Stopping today, however, can help to reverse damage caused by smoking; and after 6 months of no smoking, studies have shown that your heart-attack risk can revert to that of a non-smoker!
