Femur fx: This type of fracture will require surgery. The implant needed depends on where the fracture is located in the femur.

Femur fracture: In an otherwise healthy patient, surgery is recommended so that they can be out of bed as son as reasonable. Prolonged bed rest and immobilization has significant complications associated with it, including bed sores, pneumonia, blood clots in legs (DVT) and lungs (pe), which can be fatal. Depending on location of fracture, fixed with im rod or plate + screws.
