Ovarian CA: Your ovaries are made up of a number of different tissues, all of which can become cancer. Each type will or can cause a mass. Mass being a lump of tissue. Of course normal ovarian tissue can do the same thing. Usually additional imaging with an ultra sound can help distinguish the actual make up of the"mass". A normal ovary is not a static organ...Cysts form, eggs are released etc.

Ovarian mass: Oarian cancer is a solid cancer which means- some sort of mass/es would be there in ovary that is going to cause the increase size of the ovary. Ovary can also enlarge due to other benign condition such as simple cyst/physiologic cysts, polycystic disease etc. Especially at child bearing age, cysts would come and go, and majority of those cysts would be benign. So, close f/u of cyst is needed.
