Hernia: Some are wide and large and some small and narrow. Both can cause problems and even require emergency surgery. Get yous checked by a doctor.

Good idea: It would be a good idea to have a physical examination, and have a doctor examine the area. Some hernias can be observed, and many are better to be repaired. Does the hernia bother you or cause discomfort? Without a physical examination it is hard to tell what you should do.

Hernias: Most common hernias are groin (inguinal) hernias in men. Ventral and epigastric hernias above the umbilical area are less common. Hernias can also occur at old surgical scars from past surgery.
