Ultrasound: Although ct will provide the best detail if an aortic aneurysm needs to be repaired, an ultrasound will show if you have a significant aortic aneurysm without the radiation exposure. Other types of aneurysms brain, visceral arteries are best seen with ct scanning.

Ultrasound: An abdominal aortic aneurysm screening is typically performed with an ultrasound. This is the only aneurysm with a defined screening protocol.
