A member asked:

Is there any way to tell if someone is at risk for a brain aneurysm? and what age should people be screened for this?

Dr. Ilene Ruhoy answered

Family history: Family history of aneurysms can increase one's risks of aneurysm as can certain diseases of the blood vessel walls such as fibromuscular dysplasia. Screening requires angiography which visualizes the blood vessels.
