Very possibly: If your jaw is misaligned, and you have TMJ problems, then surgery to correct the misalignment, or orthognathic surgery, may very well help your TMJ symptoms. Our goal in treatment is to relieve pain and restore nomad function. If the jaws don't function properly because they don't line up with each other, then orthognathic surgery can be curative. Often times, jaw misalignment can cause TMJ probs.
