That depends: A lot has to do with how well the parents adjust to the role. If the parents maintain an amicable relation that is a real plus. When parents do a good job of talking & coordinating with each other, the children will win out. It is essential that the children are not put in the position of taking sides & the parents should not speak ill of each other. Allow the kids to ask questions & listen.
