See below: Chronic pain is a non-specific term for any painful condition that lasts 3-6 months or longer. Fibromyalgia describes a condition in which there is widespread pain above and below the waist on both sides of the body usually associated with other features like poor sleep, fatigue, sometimes thinking problems, sometimes problems with the bowels and bladder and sometimes depression.
