Muffin top?: If you're referring to a large abdomen in relation to narrow hips and legs etc, diet exercise and weight control are the first steps. Liposuction and possibly a tummy tuck might help improve your abdominal contour but the best results come when your are at your ideal body weight.

Muffin top treatment: Muffin tops are a challenge to treat. Diet and exercise should be optimized. Liposuction will help reduce the volume of fat. There are some non-invasive technologies which may be used to reduce fat in this area. Surgery to remove the tissue itself is an effective option to treat the muffin top in many patients.

Lipo: Liposuction works great on the muffin top. If your muffin top is large a tummy tuck might also be needed.

Liposuction vs. tuck: The answer depends on your anatomy. If you suffer from excess fat, liposuction alone can provide reduction of excess fat in key areas, such as the belly or love handles. If you have excess skin you may require a tummy tuck to reduce the excess fat and skin. The best advice is to talk with your plastic surgeon about what she/he recommends is best for your specific body type.

Liposuction 4OK skin: If your skin demastrates good elasticity, then liposuction may be a great option for you. Nonsurgical interventions such as zeltiq may be an option but are new to the arena and have not withstood the test of time.

Liposuction/ectomy: Most patients are referring to the “flank” areas when they speak about their muffin tops. These areas may be addressed through liposuction and and/or lipectomy surgery ( excision of skin and adipose tissue). Commonly performed operations include tummy tuck, extended tummy tuck, or lower body lift surgery.

Usually liposuction: Typically liposuction addresses the "muffin top" area very well. Occasionally, an excisional procedure, such as tummy tuck is necessary primarily or in combination to achieve the best result, albeit with more scar and recovery time.

The muffin top is the skin and fat that bulge over the top of jeans. If the problem is fat weight loss or liposuction can help. If the problem is skin, a direct lipectomy with skin excision can help.
