A member asked:

I am 16years and im planning to take mass nutrition protein powder i am regular at gym and want to put on muscle cause im thin and 6ft is it okay?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No powders, please: Instead of protein powder, just choose high protein foods. One can search the web for lists of high protein foods, and select the ones that have lowest sugar or lowest starch, and not too much animal fat. Nuts have protein and fat, and their fat is considered better than animal fat. If worried, a primary care doctor can evaluate to be sure thinness isn't due to a medical problem.
