No: tumors of the breast are essentially unrelated to pain. If self exam used with no mass felt, pain is not of concern. Rather a mammo is important at age 43 in order to detect early premalignant changes associated with DCIS which if detected is easily cured by wide resection. Keep appointment and don't expect that anyting will be found on the exam.
