Lymph nodes: You are describing lymph nodes on the neck from probably an infection previously. Unless he is running fever, or the nodes are swollen and tender, there is no need to do anything else

I'm not sure what: you mean by a "little pellet." If I'm understanding correctly, it could be a lymph node, which would be common in a child with a cold. You should take him to his doctor to have him checked for the cough and the lump.
