A member asked:

What is the treatment for inner ear infection? oral antibiotics aren't working could antibiotics through injections be a possible answer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Injected Rocephin (ceftriaxone) has been used but an inner ear infection that is not being adequately treated can spread to the mastoid air cells, a more serious situation. Another option is the placement of a small tube into the ear drum to allow infected fluid to drain out. Ear infections that are hard to clear can have blockage of the eustachain tube by enlarged adenoids. An ENT doctor can advise you.
