It depends.: I assume you have an element of depression or you wouldn't be on sertraline in the first place. However, some symptoms, including anxiety, jitteriness and difficulty sleeping can temporarily worsen when you start or increase this med. If, however, your depression is getting worse, your doctor needs to re-evaluate your treatment plan. Best wishes.

Not likely: Sertraline can help some patients but not all.If sertraline is the right medication for you, you should not feel worse on increasing the dose. If, taking it for depression, you feel more depressed or agitated on 100 mg it's not the right medication for you.
