Surgical technique: Despite its current internet popularity there is no evidence to support a double layer over a single layer uterine closure. Locking sutures are used to stop bleeding (such as the incision in the uterus). Running suture (not locked) are used to bring back non-bleeding tissue layers together. This is Surgery 101. If you are having to explain this to you your doctor it is best to find another.
