Sore throat: It's time to see the doctor! Persistent sore throats can be caused by step throat (treatable), sinus infections (treatable), mononucleosis ( manageable), and by herpes simplex or coxsackie viruses (untreatable). After a week the simple virus cold stuff is off the table. Go find out if what you have can be treated and what is is so you don't worry.
