My 3 year old daughter has had flu on and off for the last 3 weeks and now it's become a chesty cough which is more prominent in the evening. she coughs then vomits and then she sleeps for the rest of the evening. no fever, or sore throat.

Coronavirus: Small children can get coronavirus. First self-isolate. If your daughter's symptoms get worse please go to a Doctor to find out what type of virus or infection you have and get the right kind of medication or call an ambulance to take you to the emergency room of the nearest hospital to get tested.

Evaluation: Prolonged cough should be evaluated. Please monitor temperature, provide fluids and schedule an appointment with your PCP. A chest image is indicated to rule out pneumonia, and nasal saline will help to reduce post nasal drip. She may have a sinus infection of a lower respiratory tract infection. Please follow up.
