Temporal arteritis: You describe a swollen "vein" in the temple. Temporal arteritis is an inflammatory condition of uncertain ideology affecting the temporal artery and other large arteries, like the aorta. It is unlikely that you have this condition. However, the best option is to see an MD urgently, as giant cell arteritis can cause occlusion of the ophthalmic artery and blindness. Treatment is may be needed.
