The only explanation: I can possibly suggest is greater elevation of blood pressure associated with the High Intensity Interval Training.Sometimes when veins have been engorged due to increased pressure in the vascular system there is the sensation of itchiness;not sure about tenderness.I would consider some heart rate and blood pressure monitoring as you are adding HIIT into your regimen. And probably discuss with Doc
