Temporal arteritis is a definite possibility. See your doctor for a definitive diagnosis. Good Luck

You do not reveal whether the temple is tender or painful, and if it is merely just "swollen", this would be unlikely to be the location of giant cell arteritis. However, if there is a concern, a blood test for sed rate, and C-reactive protein should be done to exclude potential temporal arteritis.
