Likely normal cord: A STIR sequence is to evaluate edema or fluid. On an axial slice using STIR technique you will normally see dark signal from the spinal cord surrounded by bright cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the spinal canal. However inspection of all sequences are used to make a determination. Definitely your review radiology report with your physician and the radiologist for answers.
