A member asked:

I went in to see a neurosurgeon and he was going over my cervical mris. i had spots on my spinal cord and i asked him what they were. he said that it was shadowing on my spinal cord, but he never went into what that means what it could possibly be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Spots on spinal cord", if not artifactual, would not be interpreted as "shadows", and these do have potential disease correlations. This may represent prior trauma, spinal cord compression (myelomalacia), demyelination disorder, inflammation, etc. Suggest you find a second opinion doctor.
