Alternative to MRI: Alternatives to Ankle MRI include Thin Section Ankle CT with multiplanar reformations or Ankle Ultrasound, either of which should be performed by an ACR-Accredited facility both trained and certified to scan and interpret in these modalities.

U.S. : A diagnostic ultrasound is the best choice at this juncture. CT is Olof little value for soft tissue imaging.
