Need more thyroid: More important than the TSH is how you are feeling. Thyroid blood tests are often a waste of blood. If your heart rate is normal, and you're feeling well, you are on the right dose. Most hypothyroid patients feel better with a low TSH. Also, levothyroxine (T4) is inactive, and must be deiodinated to active T3 (liothyronine). Armour thyroid (a combination of T3 (liothyronine) and T4) is usually more effective than T4 alone
