Gi anatomy: There is only one colon, also known as the large intestine. The colon is anatomically divided into smaller parts purely for anatomic descriptive purposes. The picture shows the colon in its entirety, Anatomic divisions are: Cecum and Ascending Colon, Transverse Colon, Descending Colon, Sigmoid Colon, and Rectum.
