This is normal: The temperature rises about 0.5 degree after ovulation, before menses begin. However, fever meds don't necessarily make temperature normal. They just bring it down some. 99.5 is not considered a fever, even if it may be a little higher than usual. A tooth abscess requires dental care. Medications won't fix the problem. Best wishes.

Treatment ?: Are you being treated by a dentist for that abscess? On antibiotics? A fever could be a sign of infection, so it would be wise to have the problem corrected before the infection spreads.

See your dentist: With an advanced tooth infection you can suffer nausea, swelling, pain, fever and chills. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. Do not delay. But that has nothing to do with my period.

See a dentist: it is important that you see a dentist and get your tooth treated. It can get worse without treatment. Your body temperature at this time is not something to worry about, may be related to ovulation, but the infection in your tooth is something that needs to be treated.

Infection: I'm not an OBGyn, but my understanding is that temperature rises when you ovulate, not when you have your period. Temperature increase more likely due to your infection, your abscesses tooth. Pain Meds will not cure the abscess, only reduce the pain as the infection worsens and spreads. You must see a General Dentist, Endodontist, or Oral Surgeon immediately.
