Why is it taking so long to find a cure for aids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many reasons: There are many technical reasons why it is taking so long to find a cure for AIDS. Vaccines are in development, but HIV hides very well from detection by the immune system. Our current meds can clear HIV from blood, but it hides out in places where the meds can't reach. HIV also damages the immune response so that even if we detect HIV, it cannot clear HIV from the body effectively.
