A member asked:

What is the difference between lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep paralysis: Normally a person cannot move much during REM sleep. Some people with narcolepsy spontaneously enter this state of paralysis while they are awake- this is called sleep paralysis. A memorable, lucid dream is not associated with narcolepsy, but there may be physiological paralysis during the dream.
