Many options: Beyond CBT, there are numerous treatments that can help relieve severe anxiety and hypochondriasis. Clinical hypnosis, paradoxical intent, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and certain medications can all be effective. The goal is not to eliminate anxiety (which can be reasonable and helpful at times) and instead to live with it and contextualize it.

You just may have: have the appendix removed ! If you have symptoms of appendicitis and you consult with a general surgeon, there are a number of things that are taken into consideration. If you have the appendix removed you know that further bouts of belly pain are due to something else (abdominal epilepsy for example presents with GI discomfort autonomic signs and panic attacks and is diagnosed with an EEG)
