A member asked:

Where come from the thyroid have a nodule and become a cancer ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid nodules: Not all thyroid nodules are cancer. In fact, most nodules found in the thyroid are not cancer, they are either hyperplastic nodules (goiter) or benign lesions (adenoma). Those types of nodules can be large, but they do not "become" cancer, they are benign. In order to know if it is benign or a thyroid cancer, the nodule has to be sampled by FNA or excision, and examined by pathologist
