What are you asking?: Where did you hear about "20% cancer"? I'm a pathologist and that means nothing to me. The nodule's gone. Most of these never come back. If they do, they're usually pokey and manageable. You're not going to become a cancer cripple any time soon. Truth is, you need to have a talk with your physicians -- they may assume you know things about which you still have questions. Ask away.

Total thyroidectomy was NOT cancer. 3 years later ultra sound now says 6mm hypoechoic nodule may be residual thyroid vs benign appearing lymph node.
Ultrasound showed vascular nodule (9 x 4 x 4 mm) in postoperative thyroid bed. Thyroidectomy 6 1/2 years ago (suspected cancer was Neg. ) and now Elevated thyroglobulin antibodies 332 (range 0 - 6) and TPO AB 24 (range 0 - 5). Should I be concerned?
