A member asked:

I am suffering from hypertension. is a throbbing neck pain something serious? i'm also waking up at night with a pounding heart recently.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes can be serious: Hypertension is called " silent killer", most of the patients are asymptomatic but neck pain can be a symptom of high blood pressure. You should seek immediate profesional help, sometimes diet ( low salt diet) is not enough and you need medications to controll it. If left untreated then stroke and heart attack can occur.
