A member asked:

Normal ekg, 14day holter. deg disc back/neck pain, can neck pain cause dull throbbing ache in jaw that comes and goes? if heart does it come and go?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TMJ: The most likely cause of intermittent pain in the jaw is dental disease, for example, temporomandibular joint disease. There is an well known aphorism in medicine: "common things happen commonly" so if your jaw hurts, don't look to your heart as the cause. (yes it can happen but it's uncommon in all ; very uncommon in 36 year olds).
