Be checked: i would sure be checked for this. While it could be musculoskeletal, it might also be a symptoms of cardiac ischemia and you may need a stress test to make sure it is not something potentially life threatening.

See your doctor for: Work Up further. For safety sake, any pain on the left side, increasing your heart rate after exercise that beating faster than 80% higher than your resting heart rate needs to be discussed to make sure you don't have an abnormally fast heart rate. This can be done in the office, and checked with an EKG, and he can send you home on a 24 hour Holter monitor too if need be just to make sure.
