Why not?: If your Tooth Abscess was treated and went away, why will you not be safe. If any concerns consult your dentist/doctor

Absolutely NO. !: Most, if not all of the dental & periodontal abscesses are doomed to recur at some point, if no treatments are done for them. The nature of abscess is based on "release of pressure from the path of least resistance". So, even if an abscess opens up & drains by itself or disappears, that's not the end of story. You need to see a dentist, diagnose the source of abscess & then treat accordingly.

Safe-NO!: An abscess is an infection. Infections do not self-heal. Just because you are at this moment out of pain does not mean that the infection is not spreading through your circulatory system to heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, etc. The only way to eliminate a dental Abscess is to remove the infected tooth material (root canal or extraction). SEE DENTIST NOW before pain comes roaring back at 3:30 AM.
