That's safe: Using a quinolone for two weeks should be ok. I'm assuming the abscess has been drained. If, after a few days on the antimicrobial, you're not significantly better let your dentist know. Good luck.

It can be taken but: It is not the best choice of antibiotic for tooth abscess but can be used. Usual antibiotics used are amoxicillin, clindamycine, flagyl, amoxicillin/clavulnic combination, erythromycine. Discuss with your dentist why you need it for 15 days and cipro, (ciprofloxacin) there may be a reason you were prescribed Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for 15 days.

Recheck with Dentist: There can be severe infections where you may need antibiotics for 7 to 14 days..However 15 days for tooth abscess does seem long so may want to recheck with your treati.G dentist and go with the recommendation.
