A member asked:

I was put on clindamycin 300mg 4 times per day for 7 days after lower wisdom tooth extraction. is this enough to help treat infection?

Should be: If the tooth is out and if it was the only source of infection, a week is usually long enough to help resolve the infection. If there are other infected teeth or other issues causing infection in addition to the tooth that was extracted, they will also need to be addressed.

Recommended dose: In practice for dental infections, the recommended dosing for clindamycin ranges from 150 mg 4 times daily to 300 mg 4 times daily.
