My gf says the baby heart beat leaves for 5-10 hours and comes back. no heart rate no movement no nothing is that possible?

More information...: We would need to know under what circumstances she is getting the HR( does she own a fetal heart monitor or this is at the doctor's office?), what stage of pregnancy is she at( if too early the movement might not be so obvious). In any case, if this is a change from the normal she should call her OB provider and get seen if necessary.
