It may or may not: If it is an anatomical issue, colitis or tumor for example, a colonoscopy will definitely help, otherwise will help by ruling out these conditions and the search shall go on. Happy Holidays to you, too!

Possibly: If there is a disease manifested by changes in the colon and detectable by colonoscopy, definitely! You might also benefit from other imaging studies including ultrasound, CT scan, etc. but this would depend upon the clinical situation. Your doctor is the best person to make these determinations based upon their exam and labs. Hope this helps.
