Several ideas: Related to SLE could be vasculitis which occurs n SLE with a sudden damage to a nerve in the foot. If this were true some residual numbness or weakness should be seen. The other possibility is an entrapment neuropathy in the foot where some ligaments and tendons compress a nerve similar to the "crazy bone" in the elbow {ulnar}. If so it`s unrelated to the SLE. If it recurs see your doc
